To be eligible for the Masters Qualifying Program (Standard) at Macquarie University, international applicants must have completed post-secondary studies equivalent to an Australian Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree. Recognized qualifications include GCE A-Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), Chinese Gao Kao, Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), and other country-specific certificates. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency at a "Vocational" level, which is equivalent to an overall Academic IELTS score of 6.0, with no band less than 5.5, or equivalent scores in other accepted English language tests. Those who do not meet the academic or English requirements may be eligible to enter through a pathway program such as the Standard Foundation Program.
