Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • Students enrolling in units that have a practical component must make allowance for on-campus attendance to complete the practical work. All Engineering Technology students will undertake at least 300 hours of approved work experience, plus complete a report outlining the experience gained, in order to complete the requirements of the degree. This work experience must be in a suitable engineering-related area and must be approved by the Engineering Academic Chair. This professional practicum as well as support materials and guidance is provided in the 0 credit point unit ENG100 Engineering Professional Practice. This unit should be enrolled in each year.
  • Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) - 140 Written English.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - No band below 169.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) - No band below 50.
  • Occupational English Test (OET) - OET with a minimum of C (250-290) in each of the four components.
  • Internet-based Phoenix English Proficiency Test (iPEPT) Higher Ed (entry into semester 2 2020 and semester 1 2021 only - Overall Grade of B+ with no band below B2+.
  • IELTS Overall 6, listening min. 6, Reading min. 6, Writing min. 6, Speaking min. 6
  • TOEFL IBT Overall 73, listening min. 18, Reading min. 18, Writing min. 18, Speaking min. 18
  • PTE 50
