Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • To be eligible for admission as a candidate for a Doctor of Information Technology, an applicant must have: a Bachelor Degree with at least a 2A Honours normally in the same discipline (AQF level 8); or a Masters Degree normally in the same discipline (AQF level 9) and satisfy the Manager with evidence of substantive and significant scholarly or professional attainments; or a Bachelor Degree normally in the same discipline (AQF level 7) and satisfy the Manager with evidence of substantive and significant scholarly or professional attainments including satisfactory research preparation equivalent of AQF level 8 or 9.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - No band below 169.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) - No band below 50.
  • Occupational English Test (OET) - OET with a minimum of C (250-290) in each of the four components.
  • Internet-based Phoenix English Proficiency Test (iPEPT) Higher Ed (entry into semester 2 2020 and semester 1 2021 only - Overall Grade of B+ with no band below B2+.
  • IELTS Overall 6, listening min. 6, Reading min. 6, Writing min. 6, Speaking min. 6
  • TOEFL IBT Overall 73, listening min. 18, Reading min. 18, Writing min. 18, Speaking min. 18
  • CAE 169
  • PTE 50
