Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • For direct entry into the Masters of Counselling, applicants should have a three-year degree (AQF Level 7) from a recognised university in an area related to counselling such as psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, education or human services. Preference will be given to applicants who also have experience, either paid or volunteer, in a counselling role. Applicants not selected for the Masters may be admitted to either the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma course and then apply for entry to the Masters level upon successful completion. Applicants are encouraged to apply early. The admission process includes both application and interview.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - No band below 185.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) - No band below 68.
  • Occupational English Test (OET) - OET with a minimum of B (350-440) in each of the four components.
  • IELTS Overall 6, listening min. 6, Reading min. 6, Writing min. 6, Speaking min. 6
  • TOEFL IBT Overall 60, listening min. 12, Reading min. 13, Writing min. 21, Speaking min. 18
  • PTE 50
