Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • A recognised Bachelor's degree or higher, with extensive specialist study relevant to the chosen learning areas of the Secondary curriculum (i.e. English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education). To be eligible, applicants seeking a Major Teaching Area of focus must have six units of study relevant to the chosen discipline, consistent with the WA secondary school curriculum, with no more than two a first year level and at least two at third year level.
  • To be eligible, applicants seeking a Minor Teaching Area of focus must have four units of study relevant to the chosen discipline, as defined by the WA secondary school curriculum, with no more than two a first year level. If choosing Vocational Education and Training as a Minor Teaching Area applicants must have at least one year full time equivalent of industry experience. Entry to the course is competitive, and requires evidence of consistent and sustained high achievement (grades of credit and above) in a relevant undergraduate bachelor degree.
  • Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) - 185 Reading, 185 Writing, 200 Speaking, 200 Listening.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) - No band below 76.
  • IELTS Overall 7.5, listening min. 8, Reading min. 7, Writing min. 7, Speaking min. 8
  • TOEFL IBT Overall 102, listening min. 28, Reading min. 24, Writing min. 27, Speaking min. 26

  • PTE 76
