Course Overview
A/Bachelor of Interior Design/(Residential)/is for designers who want to develop the skills and creativity to respond to contemporary living challenges by adapting and leading 21st century/residential/solutions. This includes/interiors in housing of all types, such as/houses surrounded by gardens, high-rise/living/and/multi-purpose homes in adaptive reuse environments. This course teaches you environmentally sustainable practices while you investigate the finer details of home interior design, such as fittings and fabrics, as well as societal issues which include our ageing population, homelessness, evolving gender roles and the definition of family. You'll/discover the impact the selection of materials, lighting, joinery and furniture can have on your design, and explore technologies such as artificial intelligence and interactive audio-visual systems. From a practical point of view, you will realise residential environments through professional design practice and cross-disciplinary interaction, technical documentation, contract management and visualisation solutions.
