Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • Applicants will be considered who have: A Bachelor's degree with upper second class Honours or better from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • A research Masters degree with at least two-thirds of the degree comprising a thesis; or A coursework Masters degree or graduate diploma which includes a research project or thesis of 10,000 to 20,000 words (must equate to a minimum 25% research component of the entire degree); or A qualification at a level from another tertiary institution considered equivalent by the Dean.
  • PTE Academic - No other score lower than 58.
  • UTAS Access Level 7 English Language Training - Minimum Overall Score 65 - 65 for writing and 65 for speaking and no other test score less than 60.
  • CAE (Cambridge Advanced English) - Minimum Overall Score - B - Equivalent to the Council of Europe level (CEFR) of C1 or above.
  • IELTS Overall 7, listening min. 6.5, Reading min. 6.5, Writing min. 6.5, Speaking min. 6.5
  • TOEFL IBT Overall 92, listening min. 20, Reading min. 20, Writing min. 26, Speaking min. 26
  • PTE 65
