Bachelor of Building Design Management
Course Overview
Over four years, this program develops the skills necessary for a role in the integrated design and delivery of building projects. All aspects of building design are included: from initial design concept, extending to design brief formation, project documentation, quality control management during the building process and project handover. Students will develop an understanding of buildability issues, accurate cost forecasting, risk management and sustainable project delivery. Students will also develop skills needed to work in a multi-disciplinary project team and negotiate favourable outcomes in complex project environments through simulations of real-life building projects and approved practical experiences. Building Design Management involves the synthesis of technical knowledge with an understanding of building occupant needs, site context and aesthetics. This degree enables you to develop expertise in designing integrated, practical, spatial, technical and environmentally sustainable building projects.
