Bachelor of Economics
Course Overview
Economics is the study of how we make decisions and how those decisions might impact business and industry, government, law, health, banking, tech, sport and the environment. As the only one of its kind in Queensland, this program will teach you how to analyse, model and predict human behaviour. This knowledge can be used to solve complex challenges and shape public policy. You’ll learn about core economic concepts such as supply and demand, inflation and deflation and opportunity cost. You’ll learn core economic concepts such as why prices rise or fall, how money changes in value over time, and how people make choices when resources are limited. You can tailor your learning by specialising in up to 2 majors and studying elective courses that align with your interests and career goals. Many students combine this program with another of their choice. Completing a dual program provides you with a complementary skill set you can use to solve problems in areas you care about, such as law, business or the environment.
