Course Overview
With UQ’s Bachelor of Nursing, you’ll graduate equipped with the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience to thrive in one of the most rewarding and in-demand professions. A career in nursing offers diverse and dynamic opportunities, including gerontological, paediatric, critical and emergency care, rural health, mental health and community healthcare settings. Developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals, industry partners and patients, our innovative program adopts a narrative and inquiry-based approach, integrating evidence-based learning with real-world clinical practice. You will complete 880 hours of supervised clinical practice, gaining hands-on experience in some of Australia's leading hospitals and healthcare facilities. In your final year, our dedicated placement team will coordinate your clinical placement, allowing you to apply your theoretical knowledge in authentic clinical settings. You may also have the opportunity to undertake rural, remote or international placement, further broadening your perspective and skills.
