Master of Engineering Science (Biomedical)
Course Overview
The Master of Engineering Science (Biomedical) equips students with the skills to investigate, plan, design, manufacture and maintain systems and equipment that are used in all aspects of health care. Throughout the course, there is a strong emphasis on practical skills and teamwork. Graduates often work in multi-disciplinary teams with health professionals and medical specialists in hospitals and public and private sector organisations. They use their professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex systems with particular emphasis on biomedical systems. This includes the design or production of: a wide range of sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment in hospitals devices to assist in home-based health care and rehabilitation, including prosthetic and biomechanical devices.
