Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • To be eligible for the Master of Environment and Master of Sustainable Development double degree at Macquarie University, international applicants must hold a recognised bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Additionally, applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency. For most postgraduate courses at Macquarie University, this entails achieving an Academic IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with minimum scores of 6.0 in each band (Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking). Equivalent scores in other accepted English proficiency tests, such as TOEFL iBT or PTE Academic, are also considered acceptable. Applicants who do not meet these English language requirements may be eligible for pathway programs, including the Macquarie University College English Language Program, which can help them attain the necessary proficiency levels.
