La Trobe University
Overview
For more than 50 years, a legacy as one of Australia's pioneering universities has been maintained. In 1967, an initial enrollment of 552 students was recorded at La Trobe University, the third university to open in Victoria. Since then, the institution has been expanded to accommodate more than 36,000 students, including over 7,000 international students from 110 countries.
Today, a network of campuses is operated, with over 28,000 students hosted at the Melbourne Campus and over 7,500 students accommodated at campuses in Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Mildura, Melbourne City (Collins Street), Shepparton, and Sydney.
A strong dedication is held to supporting students on the path to their chosen careers. For this reason, accredited courses are co-designed with industry and taught by experts in their respective fields. This ensures that extensive expertise and real-world experience can be directly benefited from. Designed with flexibility in mind, the Industry Placement Minor allows one major placement to be completed in a single semester, or multiple placements to be undertaken over two or more semesters. Through these programs, knowledge and skills are applied in a professional environment, while valuable experience is gained.
