Entry Requirements

To enrol in this course, you’ll need to meet one of the following academic requirements. If you’re unsure, a course advisor can help you assess your eligibility.

  • To be eligible for entry, you'll need: a 4-year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (see below), or a 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) which includes all of the relevant discipline content (see below), or to have successfully completed 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Electrical Engineering (Professional).
  • You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
  • Relevant disciplines for previous qualifications Relevant disciplines include electrical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, electrical power engineering, electronic engineering (not electronic information engineering), telecommunication engineering, communication engineering, and power engineering.
  • If your bachelor's degree in engineering was not awarded in these disciplines, you must have successfully completed all of the following discipline content in your tertiary studies: advanced/higher/engineering mathematics statistics programming electrical circuits electronic circuits signal systems OR control at least one of the following: electromagnetic fields and waves OR electrical machines OR power and energy systems GPA equivalent
  • IELTS Overall 6.5, listening min. 6, Reading min. 6, Writing min. 6, Speaking min. 6
  • PTE 64
